Focus Hope:
Dec. 5, 2009—Every year, the GSY team volunteers at the Focus Hope Food Distribution Center, assisting in packaging food into boxes for the needy in our community. This year, which such a large group of young adults, GSY packed enough boxes of food to feed 1,328 families. This would not have been possible without the great teamwork and enthusiasm of the group. All the participants were awarded certificates by Focus Hope. We’re proud of all their efforts and know that they will continue to help out in the community!

GSY/JOY Movie Night:
Dec. 11, 2009—This year, the GSY Board decided to do something new to promote integration between different youth groups. GSY and the Jain Youth Group held a movie night on a Friday night, playing 2 classic movies and having activities for everyone. Each person was required to bring 2 toys; all of these toys were then donated to the Toys for Tots charity organization. The groups collected 10 huge boxes and bags of toys! The two groups mingled with each other, and GSY looks forward to working with JOY in the future.
